That simple realization grew into a shared idea: Why work as isolated individuals when we already function like a strong, reliable team?
We joined forces, and STARK Group was born. Over time, the company evolved far beyond its early freelance roots. Today, we are a focused software development team building custom software solutions, integrating AI and machine learning, and consulting on IT infrastructure, security, process optimization, and digital transformation.
Our Workplace: Flexible, Human, and Driven by Real Collaboration
Our official headquarters are in Ehningen, and our daily work happens in Böblingen at Röhrer Weg 8, inside the AI Express building. Despite the name, only a few companies in the building actually work with AI technology. We are one of them.
Remote work is fully embraced. After all, it's 2025. But personal connection still matters. People need to talk, meet, brainstorm, laugh, and build trust. Some team members visit our office only a few times a year, others drop in simply because they enjoy the environment, and that mix is exactly what keeps our culture alive.
And no, we're not affiliated with the many other "STARK Groups" in Europe. But the mix ups bring funny stories, unexpected events, and sometimes free wine.
How We Build Software: From the Root of the Problem to the Final Solution
We don't have a "standard project." Every collaboration begins with something real: a loss of money, time, quality, or efficiency inside a company process.
Clients often start with a predefined idea, shaped by previous tools they've used. Our job is to go deeper, to understand the core problem, eliminate assumptions, and design a custom solution from the ground up. A prototype might take a week or a few months. But software shouldn't stop evolving once the first version is done. It should grow with the organization, the users, and the market. A static product becomes a dead product.
When a project is easy, we finish quickly. When it's challenging, we enjoy every minute of it.

We work with agile methodologies. Yes, the keyword is important. And we provide long term maintenance, security updates, and infrastructure consulting. We are technology agnostic. Whether a solution requires a modern cloud service, a complex backend, or a mobile application, we choose what truly benefits the project.
We integrate legacy systems when possible, especially if they offer APIs. But often it's safer and more cost effective to rebuild outdated software using a modern tech stack. Scalability is supported by our cloud partners, including the Baden Württemberg cloud.
AI and Machine Learning: Effective, Practical, and Never Blindly Applied
We use AI and machine learning where they genuinely improve the outcome, never just for marketing value. The hype claiming AI will replace traditional development is unrealistic. AI is powerful, but not perfectly reproducible. Machine learning is statistical, not precise. Most companies lack the volume of clean data needed for heavy predictive models.
For us, AI is a bridge technology, a smart assistant that supports employees, highlights problems, or speeds up workflows. When mathematical accuracy or reliability is required, traditional software engineering remains essential.

Before choosing any method, whether it's an AI model, software library, PDF generator, or cloud provider, we validate it thoroughly. Critical components receive deep analysis. Smaller ones get optimized later. This mindset ensures the reliability and security our clients depend on.
